Undisclosed fee, ex employee says we wanted £8m but got £5m + add ons. Some German expert said we got a £20m player for nothing when he signed, but that was before Bilic got hold of him.

I wouldn't have been against keeping him as I reckon he'd have improved next season but it's decent enough money and we have quite a few options in midfield. More suited to the German league, he'll do well.
The more money we bring in the more we'll spend, hopefully. We need quality not quantity.

Really badly managed. Why did we buy him? It was clear Bilic didn't want him or know what to do with him. Much better player than we saw, maybe not up to the pace of the premier league but our appalling fitness issues doesn't help.
Often thought he was a scape goat when the problems actually lie elsewhere. Worth far more than the peanuts we got but we can regularly make good players look shit.

Keep dreaming, your judgement on players is awful. He was way off the pace, making it a a decent German club is completely different from the Premier league. Your knowledge of football seems terrible.

A lot (virtually all) of our players had shit seasons and we saw the effect of trying to catch up on a preseason injury on a player as good as Cresswell.
Would agree that circumstances certainly didn't help him.

How I would sum up his season?
Unlucky to be injuried through the summer, and unlucky to be thrown in as right back still injuried.
Didn't get a real chanceto play until late in the season when half the team was out and playing with low confidence.
In other words, a shit season for a very professional defensive midfielder
